Launching Three new SUVs from Toyota in 2025

Within the next 18 months, Toyota plans to introduce three new SUVs to the Indian market. A brand-new three-row SUV based on the Hyryder is scheduled for release in 2025, while the Fronx-based Taisor is scheduled to be on sale at some point this year. In addition, there are plans to build an additional SUV based on the Corolla Cross.

The 2025 introduction of the Corolla Cross-based SUV is also anticipated.

A three-row hybrid will be placed beneath the SUV Corolla Cross.

Similar to the regular Hyryder SUV and its badge-engineered twin, the Grand Vitara, the three-row Hyryder will likewise use a single production arrangement. Maruti has started construction on the three-row Grand Vitara (codename: Y17), which will be manufactured at the company’s new Karkhoda plant. The factory is scheduled to begin producing cars in 2025, as we revealed last year. Maruti will construct and supply Toyota with the three-row Hyryder, which will be based on the three-row Grand Vitara. The wheelbase of the three-row Hyryder is anticipated to stay the same, but the rear overhang will be a little bit larger to provide room for the third row.

With the three-row variant, it will be the other way around; Maruti purchases the SUVs manufactured by Toyota for its two-row models. This new SUV is intended for buyers considering the Alcazar,  XUV700, and Safari and will be positioned next to the Innova Hycross.

Toyota Corolla Cross is anticipated by 2025.

Another SUV that Toyota plans to launch in 2025 will be constructed at its new site. Based on the Corolla Cross SUV marketed abroad, this new SUV will be positioned above the three-row Hyryder and sit on the well-liked TNGA-C platform shared with the Innova Hycross.

Future lineup for Toyota India

Along with the Glanza, Rumion, Innova Crysta, Innova Hycross, Fortuner, and Vellfire MPV, Toyota’s already extensive model lineup for India will be expanded with the addition of the rebadged Fronx, the three-row Hyryder, and the Corolla Cross-based SUV. In addition to the aforementioned SUVs, sometime in 2025, Toyota will introduce its firstborn EV, which was co-developed with Maruti, to the Indian market.
