Mahindra And Mahindra has been deliberately working on electric SUVs to bring about a swift change in the EV market. It showcased its first SUV model in 2022. The brand’s upcoming electric car, which is set to launch in stages beginning next year, has been spotted going for a test drive.
As per the resources, XUV.e9 was seen on the roads in its new production form, confirming its rumours of debuting in domestic markets. It will also be the first model introduced in Mahindra’s all-electric SUV range.
As mentioned by the company, the XUV.e9 will be placed above the XUV.e8, which is an all-electric derivative of the ongoing XUV700. The sloping rooflines, which give a strong coupe-SUVish look, accompanied by aero-efficient wheels, will make the XUV e8 and e9 the company’s flagship products.
Upfront, the fully blanked-off grille with connected LED DRC split headlamp setup and triangular housing gives it a unique look. There’s also a large air dam in the lower part of the bumper, along with the ADAS radar in between. At the back, the tail lamp setup along with a sporty bumper will also be included in the package. All in all, the XUV.e9 has a futuristic design.
Talking about its battery pack, the Mahindra all-electric XUV.e9 is powered by 80 kW in the top-spec version along with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system. A smaller battery pack option with a front-wheel-drive version can also be expected from Mahindra. Talking about the power output, it could range from 230 bhp to 350 bhp and claims to go around 450 km on a single charge.
